Review
A definite CD to get hold of. It's only seven tracks but it merits a 10/10 rating for the excellent, energetic performance from the band and the top quality of the sound (it's from an FM broadcast). The seven songs taken from the night's show are among the best live versions that exist of those songs. Bursting with energy and performed with panache. A great mix in the sound too, with the lead guitar sounding just great, especially in the intro to Lightning Strikes. The band is also is good spirits it seems, with Joe inviting Topper to begin I Fought The Law - "Take it away Topper!" before the opening drum roll to kick off the onslaught of sound. London Calling is on par with the Bonds playing, if not better, and Radio Clash is probably the best live rendition (it certainly beats the studio version). Highly recommended. Oh, and there's also a superb Mag 7 and Bankrobber too.
Rated: 10 / 10
Extra
I've also got this on a CD with part of a Dead Kennedys show (live at Paradiso, 5th December, 1982) on it as well. When trading for Amsterdam 81-7, I'll assume you want this version for the extra tracks. Thanks to Robert Korving for that. The Stockholm's Burning CD2 also has these seven tracks, plus One More Time from the same night so if you're trading for that you're getting this as well.
Thanks to Haakon Kayser for the copy of this.
