Recommendations Needed

I'm at an impasse for discovering new music, I have wallowed in all my old favourites so often that they are overfamiliar. My usual things are post-punk, shoegaze, noise-rock, trip-hop (some anyway), and limited bits of electronic stuff.

Does anyone have any deep cuts from the above genres OR something completely different that just might blow my mind?? I prefer dark, cathartic lyrics and moods but that is only the tendency rather than the rule.

Did you listen to Ariel Pink's recent album The Key Of Joy Is Disobedience? What about O. Children? Preoccupations?

The Sundays weren't bad. When I worked at Crappy Tire they had "Here's Where the Story Ends" on their playlist, which made wandering aisles to 'face' products a lot sadder than it should have been. I liked "You're Not the Only One I Know" but beyond that didn't find them to be that great, rather like Cranes. For jangle pop, Sarah Records (also Bristol based, like The Sundays) released The Wake's two albums in that style, Make It Loud and Tidal Wave of Hype. They were alright but not as good as Here Comes Everybody.

My two most recent finds have been Kitty Craft and FEET. The former released Beats and Breaks from the Flower Patch in 1998. I found it excellent and am currently exploring their other releases. FEET released their debut album in 2019: What’s Inside is More Than Just Ham. It sounded a bit like a post-punk Blur (similar vocals at times). The tracks "English Weather" and "Dog Walking" stood out.
