It's appropriate that my first post should commend Kali Uchis. Her 2023 album, Red Moon in Venus, is a masterpiece. Like many classics, it took about five listens for me to really start appreciating it. I also highly recommend her debut album Isolation as well as her 2012 mixtape Drunken Babble.
How did I first hear about her? In a Bolton kitchen sometime in spring 2018; On BBC Radio 6 Music I heard through a DAB portable her song 'In My Dreams' which featured Damon Albarn. It instantly appealed to me and it turned out it was quite the throwaway song compared to the others on the album!
Anyway, I remain a huge fan of Kali Uchis

Although there are some pleasant melodies and interesting moments, this album still hasn't grabbed me. I remain hopeful since it took at least five listens for me to love Red Moon in Venus.
