SimCity 3000
I was a great fan of SimCity 2000 and played it a lot in the late '90s. Its sequel, the oddly named 3000, was released in 1999 and I purchased a brand new copy on CD-ROM in early 2000. It cost £30 from the Oldham branch of Electronics Boutique. Anyway, I played it on and off for a few years and then shelved it. In January 2014, I decided to revisit it and began building Sharoma City. This city had filled the map by March. I then saved it, and stopped playing for another year. In February 2015, I decided to start filming an 'urban renewal' with the following objectives: reduce air pollution; reduce traffic and instigate a mass transit system; increase the population to one million; investigate more efficient police station placement.

Sharoma City reaches one million
On February 12th, 2015 [game date: December 1st, 2146] the city achieved the initial residential goal. The military base was removed recently to reduce crime and pollution in the downtown area. A new one may be sited on an island built for the purpose. New goals: become the largest local city and continue to enhance the mass transit system.
