The Likely Lads
On this page, The Likely Lads refers not only to the original sitcom from the 1960s, but also its 1973 sequel Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads?. My intention for a few years now has been to catalogue the humour of the three principle comedy series written by Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais: this one, Porridge, and Auf Wiedersehen, Pet. Until that is completed, here is a little something relating to one of the most famous scenes in the sequel, S02E03 "The Ant and the Grasshopper". Audiences of recent times may marvel at the purchasing power of the then recently decimalised pound. We don't get an itemised account of Bob and Terry's lunchtime pub order that day, so here is my best guess:
